Turkey ranked 9th worldwide for the total number of aesthetic procedures in the latest ISAPS Global Survey, covering procedures performed in 2025 and published on 29 September 2026. ISAPS estimates 1,318,980 procedures in Turkey, of which 794,390 were surgical. The same survey reports that, among the plastic surgeons who responded from Turkey, a median of 15% of patients came from other locations, most often from Germany, the UK and the US.

Which Aesthetic Procedures Are Most Common in Turkey?

In the ISAPS survey, the five most common surgical procedures in Turkey in 2025 were:

What Is Included in an Aesthetic Surgery Package?

Packages in Antalya commonly list:

• The surgical procedure and anaesthesia
• Hospital stay for the nights your surgeon requires
• Pre-operative blood tests and medical assessment
• Post-operative compression garments
• Prescribed medication for recovery
• Transfers between airport, hotel and clinic
• Hotel accommodation for the recovery days
• Remote follow-up support after you return home

Get the list in writing, and ask what happens to the price if your surgeon recommends a longer stay. Flights, travel insurance and care at home are usually not included.

What Does Recovery Look Like?

The NHS publishes recovery guidance for common procedures. Your surgeon gives you the plan that applies to you.

How to Verify a Clinic Before You Book

1. Authorisation — Under Article 5(1) of Turkey's 2025 International Health Tourism Regulation, the Ministry of Health authorises health facilities and USHAŞ authorises intermediary organisations. Check names on the Ministry's list of authorised facilities and intermediary organisations.
2. Accreditation and insurance — The same regulation requires hospitals and medical centres to be accredited by TÜSKA and other facilities to hold a Ministry certificate by 31 December 2026, and requires facilities to take out complication insurance for surgical procedures in the operating theatre (Article 6(1)(b)–(c)).
3. Surgeon credentials — Ask for your surgeon's name, specialty and professional memberships, and how many procedures like yours they perform.
4. Results at the right time — Ask to see results at 6–12 months, not immediately after surgery, when swelling can hide the final outcome.
5. Implants — For breast surgery, ask for the implant manufacturer and model in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do I need to stay in Turkey after aesthetic surgery? It depends on the procedure. The NHS flying guidance above (5–7 days after breast surgery or liposuction, 7–10 days after facial procedures or tummy tucks) is a useful minimum to plan around. Your surgeon confirms your date.

Is aesthetic surgery in Turkey safe? Every operation carries risk, at home or abroad. Turkish regulation requires authorisation, accreditation or certification, and complication insurance for surgical procedures. Check these, and check the surgeon, before you book.

What happens if I am unhappy with the result? Ask about the revision policy before you choose a clinic, and get the terms in writing before your procedure.

Can I combine multiple procedures in one visit? Sometimes. Your surgeon decides whether combining procedures is safe, based on your health, the expected length of surgery and the anaesthesia time.

What about scarring? Every incision leaves a scar. The NHS notes, for example, that a tummy tuck leaves a scar across the lower tummy, and that raised scars should fade over 12 to 18 months. Ask your surgeon where your scars will be and how to care for them.
